In my corner of the world, the public library very kindly, twice a year, puts on a book sale. And it is utterly fantastic. Paperbacks for 50¢, and 25¢ on half-price Saturday. Magnificent, full-color coffee table books - you know the ones, the ones that go for $25+ at market price - for $2. My roommate ended up with 30-odd paperbacks for $11. Library booksale time is truly a magical time of year.
So for your perusal/entertainment/fodder for any interesting theories about who I am or what I do in my off-moments, here are the books I bought.
The Devil's Dictionary
Berlitz's Italian for Travellers
Smile When You're Lying
On the Nature of Things
Orchids
Paris to the Moon
A Short History of Nearly Everything
The Art of the Handwritten Note
10,000 Words Often Mispronounced
The Island of the Colorblind
A User's Guide to the Brain
A Sideways Look at Time
Einstein's Dreams
[9 others redacted, since they're Christmas gifts yet to be given]
Reviews forthcoming as I read them; I've rearranged my shelves to put all the to-reads in one spot. I hope this will motivate me to actually read the books I buy in a timely manner, instead of getting distracted by library books/Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries on Netflix.

Devo
