This is an advice book for existential crisis-ridden twentysomethings masquerading as a cookbook, and I am here for it.
Though I feel it necessary to point out that drinking away your problems? Not a thing I am here for.
There are pictures, and asides, and nifty typography. There's advice and mishaps, and tales of adventure. There are life lessons and puns, goofy faces and lists. Basically, it's Hannah Hart's [1] YouTube series in book form, and I dig it.
And "adultolescence"? Is a wonderful new word, wondrously straightforward and descriptive, a dandy linguistic blend that I hope makes its way into the more permanent lexicon.
But fair warning: if you are looking for actual tasty recipes sprinkled in with your advice (as I was)? Ya ain't gonna find it here. The recipes are an entry point for talking about (sometimes rather serious) life questions and doubts. Or an excuse for a pun. Or both.
xo,
Devo
[1] Maybe it's just me, but I feel like you're halfway to being a superhero if your names alliterate.
