Not reading as much - think I'm getting older, as I tend to fall asleep nowadays if I try to read for long periods of time. Or books are just getting more boring. Or it's y'know winter, so dark and cold all the time.
Anyway.
The Stepford Wives is surprisingly...mundane. It was just one of those books I felt needed reading, so I read it. Very short, not much happens except the whole robot/death thing. I'm contractually obligated to like lady-or-the-tiger endings, but must admit I was verra curious about the "truth."
Nothing to Envy is about North Korea, and growing up in the dictatorship. I had no idea of the famines, or the complete lack of work. Obviously, all the main people in the stories made it out (otherwise candid interviews would not have been possible), but still incredibly sad tales of deprivation and loss.
Snuff is a bit heavy-handed for ol' Terry, but still enjoyable. I do love a good Vimes romp, especially when his ire is up about JUSTICE and DOING THE RIGHT THING. He's like an exceptionally grouchy Captain Picard, at least in terms of RIGHTEOUSNESS.
